Hero and Heroine
These two words hero and heroine does not make me think of any fantasy world or movies, where a handsome guy or pretty girl acts as a 'Hero' or 'Heroine'. According to me hero is someone who not only live for himself / herself but for others. The word hero reminds me of our ‘Freedom fighter’, our leaders and especially ‘Maharana Pratap’
The word heroine doesnot make me think of any good looking girl, or lady but reminds me of ‘Rani Laxmi Bai’, the word heroine makes me think of all those women who fought with difficult situations in their life and emerged out as a set of example for others.
According to me, there is a hero and heroine in every one and only difficult time reveals a hero or heroine. Everyone has problem in their lives but some choose to fight and some to fight from the situation.
Whenever I hear this word heroine, it makes me think of a girl who had always fought with her problems and is ready to face every difficulty.
This girl, but she is my heroine had seen many things in her life at a very small age. When she sexually abused by her family member, but at such small age, she stood up and she told it to everybody and made that person suffer!
This girl having been a victim was ill-treated in her family but she set an example to her family and she decided to work for such victims. She was only sixteen when she started this work at her school level. Her confidence and dedication made her a fought for her friends right and helped many such victims to over once from this trauma. My heroine not only helped her, but also others. Those who work for others welfare are real hero and heroines in my perspective.
Time passed suddenly one day when she was returning home she met with an accident where she lost her legs.
But she never complained. She was thankful to god that god saved her life. This thought reminds we of another personality ‘Nirbhaya’ who was also a Heroine for the irrespective of all the pain and difficulties she wanted to live and she didn’t complained. Such women who fight with difficult situations whether in related to family, or personal life make me feel inspire and motivate me to help first yourself then help others.
My heroine who met with the accident and lost her legs didn’t stop in her life, she continued her study and her work. Her family felt proud of her and then she gave her Boards where she irrespective of the difficult situations in one’s life and not complaining are real heros and heroines for me. She didn’t stopped, she opened social service scheme at her university and within some time duration she was the head of her NGO.
She is still working very hard every day and night not for herself but for others. Such normal people who never bent down in front of the difficulties and fight not flight are my heroes and heroine.
When I think of the past there are number of women whom I see as heroines such as Rani Laxmi Bai, Kalpana Chawla, and one of my favourite Maya Angelou – I see her as a ‘Phenomenal woman’. These personalities are well known and are heroines for many. But my heroine is my friend whom I say my girl, my heroine!
Hero
In todays time when I talk to people and when our communication comes to a point where we ask each other about heros, some says movie actor, some says father, some says prime minister. From this I came to know that everyone has different opinion, according to some is our Father of Nation is our hero. And yes of course some have their superman and spider man as their hero.
But when I think of myself the person whom I see as hero are our Freedom Fighter. They were the people who gave their lives for us. Heroes are the Army people for me. Who are standing at the boarder day and night in cold, summer and fighting and sacrificing their lives for us. According to me every person who saves other lives without thinking of his/her life is real hero or heroine for me.
My grandfather has been a freedom fighter and when he used to tell us the stories of times of independence and condition of people, it used to bring tears in my eyes. But I remember he told me about one man ‘Gulam’ Gulam whom I never met nor seen but how he helped the people who were behinds the bars. How he provided them with water, during that time, without any fear of his life he just went and broke all the rules and provided the people with water. This person is a hero for me. He lost his life but he was not bothered.
I don’t have any personal Hero, but when I look around everyday I see someone doing something different and creative for the society and people. Then I refer to that person as ‘Hero’ Once my father asked me who’s you favourite hero and I replied “It’s Army People” and he asked why?” I said because they live for other and my hero and heroines are such people who are not been for themselves but for others!
